Meet Nadine Gharz
Founder of NUAGE Beauty House
Meet the founder behind NUAGE Beauty House, Nadine Gharz. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and the second youngest of five siblings, Nadine grew up in a household that exposed her to creativity from a young age. With a hairstylist mother, her love for beauty began early and never left her side.
In 2014, Nadine was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder known as Idiopathic Aplastic Anemia. With her body no longer able to produce the blood cells needed to survive, doctors gave her just two weeks to live. Her only chance was an immediate bone marrow transplant and chemotherapy. In a life‑altering twist of fate, her oldest sister turned out to be a perfect match and ultimately saved her life.
During treatment, Nadine lost her eyebrows to chemotherapy, an experience that deeply shaped her relationship with beauty and self‑expression. Her love for tattoos and her desire to help others reclaim confidence led her to the world of permanent cosmetics, where she found both healing and purpose.
Now, more than ten years later, Nadine is a permanent makeup artist, business owner, and advocate for non‑toxic beauty. Her story is the heartbeat of NUAGE. The “cloud” symbolizes the physical heaven she created for herself after facing death, a sanctuary shaped by everything she’s endured and everything she’s grateful for. The atmosphere, mission, and identity of NUAGE are all rooted in the good, the bad, and the beautiful of her journey.
Outside the studio, Nadine is a lover of matcha, pilates, sushi, spending time with her pups at the dog park, beach bike rides, great shoes, and collects vintage vinyls. Despite unimaginable challenges, she continues to choose light, leading NUAGE Beauty House with passion, intention, and the warm smile she’s known for.
